Noa has been awarded the Anton Kersjes Grant for violinists 2017. Praised by the jury as “an exceptional talent ‘hors catégorie’: surprising performance, bursting with energy and spontaneity. The jury was also impressed by an intense and mature musicality, that’s exceptional for her age”. The award ceremony took place in the Recital Hall of The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on 2 December 2017. The grant comprises €15,000 to further Noa’s studies internationally.

Het Kersjes Fonds, founded in 1994 by the popular Dutch conductor Anton Kersjes (1923-2004) and his wife Margreet van de Groenekan, is one of the largest private funds in the Netherlands dedicated to stimulating classical music. The fund annually donates approximately €350,000 to recipients, in the form of scholarships and prizes for young talent and the support of special projects and original initiatives.

From the jury report (Dutch):

‘Een talent ‘hors categorie’, overrompelend spel dat barst van energie en spontaniteit. Ook is het bestuur onder de indruk van een intense en rijpe muzikaliteit, die uitzonderlijk is voor haar leeftijd.’
